Redlands Track & Field Wraps up Season at NCAA Championships

After two tough days of competition in Delaware, OH, the University of Redlands track & field program's eight qualifiers concluded their time at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships.

Day two of the national meet began with the Maroon and Gray's junior Maddie Smith (Hoquiam, WA) taking 15th in the High Jump with a mark of 5' 3". 

Junior Darren Centi (Auburn, CA) completed the 400 in 48.70, just 0.61 off of the finals' qualifying time in a very tight race.  He took 14th overall at the NCAA Championships.

In the 100, sophomore Joey Colucci (San Jose, CA) capped off the team's showing with a 13th-place time of 10.78, which was less than one-tenth of a second behind the qualifying standard for the national finals.

On Thursday, the 4x100 Relay of senior Darron Usher (Rialto, CA), junior Taylor Browning (Carbondale, CO), freshman Myles Speegle (Castro Valley, CA), and Colucci opened the Bulldogs' national competition with a time of 41.36 for 13th place.

Usher then registered a mark of 22' 7" in the Long Jump to finish 14th, before the 4x400 Relay of Centi, Browning, freshman Auston Tribble (Glenwood Springs, CO), junior Antwain Morgan (Granada Hills, CA) finished off the first day with a 16th-place time of 3:16.81.
