Redlands Softball will play NCAA Regional at No. 4 Linfield in a best-of-five series

INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) announced the 2023 Division III Softball Championship field and after earning an automatic bid by winning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament Sunday the University of Redlands will now travel to McMinnville, Oregon to face No. 4 Linfield University in a two-team regional in which the two teams will play a best-of-five game series.

The Bulldogs and Wildcats met at The Field of Dreams earlier in the season on February 18 splitting the doubleheader with Linfield taking Game 1 (1-0) in extras (Box Score) and Redlands coming back in Game 2 winning 4-3 (Box Score | Recap).

Both of these programs have met 36 times with the Wildcats holding a 26-10 advantage. Over the last 10 games, since May 2013, the Bulldogs have gone 4-6. The most recent previous meetings prior to this season were in 2018 when the two teams split a two-game series in Redlands.

The series will start at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 with a single game. Games two and three will be on Friday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. If neither team has gone 3-0 through Friday, if necessary games four and five are scheduled for Saturday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
