2022 Men's Tennis All-SCIAC Teams
REDLANDS, Calif. - The 2022 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Tennis honors were announced Thursday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.
The University of Redlands Men's Tennis team, who finished the year ranked No. 9 in the West Region saw sophomore Stefan Hester (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) land on the 2nd Team for the first time in his career after playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Maroon and Grey.
Despite not picking up a win in singles throughout conference play, he did go three-sets with Claremont-M-S (Robert Liu – SCIAC Player and Newcomer of the Year), Cal Lutheran (Darvel Lossangoye) and Whittier College (Spencer Cinco – SCIAC Newcomer of the Year). In doubles he paired up with Thomas Reznik (Belmont, CA) and Jack Mattox (Mercer Island, WA) throughout the season finding success with first year Mattox going 5-2, which included solid wins over Caltech (Ranked No. 6 in the West Region) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Hester ends his 2022 season earning West Regional rankings of No. 18 in Singles and No. 8 in Doubles with partner Mattox.
