REDLANDS, Calif. - It was announced Thursday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) that the University of Redlands Men's Tennis team lands among the best of the best at No. 17 amid all Division III schools.

The Maroon and Grey are off to a hot start here in 2022 currently 3-1, which includes three straight wins over nationally-ranked opponents.  During this winning streak, the Bulldogs have beaten then No. 18 Mary Washington (5-4), No. 25 Christopher Newport (6-3), and No. 34 Vassar (8-1).

This is the highest-ranking for Redlands since the 2018 season when they were selected within the Top-15 twice within the same year at No. 11 & No. 13.

They are also now the second-highest ranked team within the national polls for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) trailing only to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.  UR finds itself ahead of No. 19 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 22 Caltech, No. 32 Cal Lutheran University, and No. 33 Occidental College.

Sophomore Stefan Hester (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) leads the Bulldogs playing the top spot in both singles and doubles.  He was named the SCIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week recently and currently owns a 3-1 singles record.

Redlands returns to the court this Saturday, March 12 looking to extend their winning streak to four as they welcome in Hardin-Simmons beginning at 12:00pm.

The ITA DIII Coaches Poll is voted on by the ITA National Ranking Committee. The National Ranking Committee is made up of the four ITA Region Chairs, as well as one National Chair.
