VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team currently sits in third place and four strokes off co-leaders and, according to Golfstat, No. 26 California Lutheran University (CLU) and No. 6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) after round one on Sunday at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.

The No. 39 Bulldogs held a lead for the majority of the first round, including an advantage with only a few holes left to be played, but the Kingsmen and Stags each closed strong as the Maroon and Grey shot a 290 putting them behind by four strokes. The Bulldogs do hold a three-stroke advantage over fourth place Occidental College.

Redlands' No. 1 Joshua Fambro (Taos, N.M.) and No. 3 Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) paced the Bulldogs with a pair of one under 71's as they currently sit in a tie for ninth. They sit only two strokes off three co-leaders who shot 69s to open the Championships.

The other three Bulldogs who scored included Zane Mularski (Spokane, WA) who is in a tie for 13th with a 73, Jake Yim (Lake Oswego, OR) tied for 17th with a 75, and Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA) who is tied for 32nd after shooting an 80.

Redlands will get round two of three started tomorrow morning, Monday, April 24 at 7:30am at Olivas Links Golf Club as they look to position themselves for a strong run for the AQ Bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
