SCIAC Men's Basketball Weekly Release (No. 1)

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week in the first week of voting and University of Redlands senior guard Darne Duckett (Oakland, CA) was named the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week.    

Duckett helped pace Redlands to a 1-1 week to start the 2021-22 season as the Bulldogs fell to No. 19 Whitworth, 74-68, before downing Pacific (Ore.), 76-66 during the Tip-Off Classic. He contributed four steals over the two games - two in each contest - while also pulling down five of his seven total rebounds on the defensive glass. On the offensive side, he scored 24 points, averaging 12 points per game.

Redlands has their home opener this Saturday, November 13 when they host the University of Puget Sound beginning at 7:00pm.
