REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Football Athletes of the Week in the eleventh week of voting.  University of Redlands junior defensive back Scott Tinsley (Capitola, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.  He also is the third Bulldog to win Defensive Athlete of the Week honors joining Brandon Serrano and Jadin Michaels.

Tinsley helped pace No. 21 Redlands to a 56-28 victory over California Lutheran University. Trailing 14-0 early in the first quarter, Tinsley picked off the first of two passes as he raced 41 yards for a score to cut the Bulldogs' deficit in half. He then intercepted another pass, which he returned deep into Kingsmen territory to set up Redlands' second touchdown of the contest, which evened the game at 14-14 at that point. He finished with eight tackles in the win.

The University of Redlands is NCAA Bound as they will travel to the Pacific Northwest this weekend, Saturday, November 20 for the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Championships. They start their journey with a first round matchup against No. 6 Linfield University who was a perfect 9-0 this season.
