SCIAC Football Weekly Release (No. 8)

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week in the eighth week of voting.  University of Redlands graduate student and quarterback for the Bulldog Football team Nathan Martinez (Redlands, CA) was selected as the Offensive Athlete of the Week.

This is the first time Martinez has been selected for Offensive Athlete of the Week this year but is the second Bulldog to earn this accolade since Kai Thompson (Murrieta, CA) was honored back in Week 1.

Martinez led the Bulldogs to a 28-24 come-from-behind victory over Chapman University in SCIAC play. Martinez was 23-for-33 through the air for 354 yards with a touchdown. He averaged 10.7 yards per attempt and had a long toss of 57 yards en route to a 69.7 completion percentage and a 169.8 efficiency rating.

Redlands is now 6-1, 4-0 SCIAC and enters a bye week.  They return to action on November 6 when they travel to take on the Poets of Whittier College.
