Scott Tinsley named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week in the seventh week of voting.  University of Redlands junior defensive back Scott Tinsley (Capitola, CA) was selected as the Football Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Tinsley is the third Bulldog this year to win SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors following Brandon Serrano (Week 6) and Jadin Michaels (Week 5) who earned recognition over the past two weeks.        

Scott helped pace the Bulldogs to a 34-18 victory over Pomona-Pitzer with his defensive efforts. He logged 10 total tackles (six solo, four assisted), including 2.5 tackles for a loss of four yards. He also picked off a pair of passes on the Sagehens' first two possessions to set up a pair of scoring drives for the Maroon and Grey.  

The University of Redlands Football team looks forward to a homecoming game this Saturday, October 23 against Chapman University (5-1) beginning at 7:00pm.
