Four Bulldogs Grab All-Conference Honors at SCIAC Cross Country Championships

The University of Redlands men's and women's cross country teams ran strong races at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships on Saturday in Claremont. The Bulldog men produced their best team finish since 1992 by taking third place with 103 points in the 8K race, while the women finished fifth with 100 points in the 6K event.

Four Bulldogs grabbed all-conference honors with top-20 placements.

Junior Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) led the men's squad with a fourth-place finish, individually, by crossing the finish line in 25:21.0 to earn himself All-SCIAC first-team honors. First-year Enrique Verschoor (Mar del Plata, Argentina) took 25th with a time of 26:13.5, followed by first-year Brandon Farnsworth (Palos Verdes Estates, CA), who clocked in at 26:46.7 for 39th.

Sophomore Miguel Fausto (Whittier, CA) was just .1 seconds behind his fellow Bulldog, taking 41st with a time of 26:47.8. Freshman Rogelio Salcido (Beaumont, CA) rounded out the top-five finishers for Redlands, finishing the race in 26:56.0 for 46th place.

On the women's side, senior Maria Ramirez (Orange, CA) led the Bulldogs with a top-10 finish, taking sixth overall with a time of 22:38.5 and earning All-SCIAC first-team recognition. Senior Carly Veasy (Camas, WA) and sophomore Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA) came one right after each other for 16th and 17th place, respectively, to both earn all-conference second-team honors. Veasy clocked in at 23:16.3, while Glenn crossed the finish line less than a second later in 23:17.1.

Sophomore Alexis Wallace (Orangevale, CA) was the fourth Bulldog across the line, finishing with a time of 24:00.7 for 31st. Senior Sarah Shipway (Lafayette, CA) was 20 seconds later, clocking in at 24:20.7 for 42nd, while freshman Sheriane Greene (Grass Valley, CA)  stopped the clock in 24:36.1 (50th).

The Bulldogs look now to the NCAA Division III West Region Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 16. in Claremont.
