The University of Redlands and Bulldog Athletics would like to take a moment to celebrate the two women's water polo seniors whose spring season was sadly cut short due to the swiftly changing conditions of the current time.
First, we honor a four-year dual-sport athlete on the women's water polo and swim and dive teams who has increased her role on the team each year. One of her standout games came earlier this season, where she scored two goals and won the second quarter sprint in a 15-2 win against Caltech. She has tallied 14 steals, eight goals, and four drawn exclusions in her career. She also impresses in the classroom as a three-time "Outstanding" honoree on The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic awards. She also landed on the SCIAC All-Academic team, the Dean's List, and has been a Redlands Scholar-Athlete over her four years as a Bulldog. This senior plans on graduating with a degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences, from nearby Yucaipa, #9 Courtney Gray!
Next up is a two-year transfer from Citrus College who made an immediate impact upon joining the Maroon and Gray. In 2019, after a 3-2 week for the Bulldogs, she was named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for her 10 steals, seven-goal, three drawn exclusion, one field block, and one assist performance. She also snagged the award at the beginning of the 2020 season after a five-steal, three-goal display. In her two-year career she has racked up 57 goals, 57 steals, 24 drawn exclusions, 13 assists, 12 field blocks, and is 22-for-25 in sprints. She held a "Superior" standing on the ACWPC All-Academic awards, was a Redlands Scholar-Athlete and made the Dean's List in 2019. This senior plans on becoming a college professor after graduating with a degree in Health, Medicine, and Society later this spring. From Indio, #5 Hunter Olivier!
