The University of Redlands women's water polo team stumbled on the road in a 4-15 loss at Cal Lutheran University in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action on Wednesday.

After going down by two goals early, the Bulldogs took advantage of a power-play when senior center Kolby Kahahawai (Kailua, HI) found the back of the net to close the gap at the 3:46-mark in the first. Although the Regals scored on a penalty shot with 22 seconds left in the frame, the Bulldogs made it a one-goal game as time expired, when senior defender Carmen Gardner (South San Francisco, CA) notched her fourth goal of the season.

However, the Regals extended their lead to 8-2 in the second stanza, with four of their five goals coming in power-play fashion.  CLU also benefitted from a lucrative third period that resulted in a 15-2 advantage by the 6:24-mark of the fourth.

Nonetheless, the Maroon and Gray finished the game with a pair of goals. With 3:17 to go, first-year attacker Ally Feeley (Menlo Park, CA) fired off her second goal of the season. Kahahawai tallied another score less than a minute later to make it 4-15.

Redlands (10-12, 3-3 SCIAC) returns home on Saturday, March 23, for a SCIAC matchup against Whittier College at 11 a.m.
