The University of Redlands women's water polo team took to the road for the Santa Clara Invite, beginning with two games on Saturday.  While taking on formidable foes, the Bulldogs dropped an 8-17 decision to the host school before falling to Sonoma State University by a score of 3-14.

After a scoreless first period, the Bulldogs struggled to find their offense until the 3:45-mark of the second stanza, when first-year attacker Kelly Klish (Glenview, IL) fired one past the Santa Clara goalkeeper.

Although Redlands scored seven more goals through the end of the game, the deficit proved too much to overcome en route to an 8-17 loss.

Senior attacker Michelle Na (Mercer Island, WA) and junior attacker Sami Walker (Taylorsville, UT) each provided two goals, while junior attacker Katelyn Jenkins (Bellevue, WA), first-year defender Sarah Draves (Fallbrook, CA), sophomore attacker Olivia Allen (Santa Monica, CA), and Klish added one apiece.

In their second game of the day, the Bulldogs faced a sizeable hole after one period and battled against a stingy Sonoma State defense.  By the final whistle, Klish, Allen, and Walker each scored once in the loss.

On Sunday, Redlands (1-4) continues with the Santa Clara Invite by taking on Cal State Monterey Bay at 8 a.m. and UC Davis at 2:40 p.m.
