The University of Redlands women's water polo team squared off against the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens in Saturday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown in the Thompson Aquatic Center.  After facing a four-goal deficit at the half, the Bulldogs struggled to slow down the Sagehens' prolific offense and fell by a score of 3-10.

Although Pomona-Pitzer scored first, the Maroon and Gray answered right back with a goal by senior utility player Taylor Christie (Anaheim, CA) with 6:38 remaining in the opening frame.

However, Redlands was held scoreless until late in the third period, leading to a deficit that was simply too large to overcome.

Junior defender Chum Alvarez-Zakson (Santa Monica, CA) and freshman utility player Kolby Kahahawai (Kailua, HI) notched Redlands' only other goals.

Freshman goalkeepers Allison Totzke (San Bernardino, CA) and Katelyn Jenkins (Bellevue, WA) combined efforts in the cage, making six and two saves, respectively.

Redlands (5-18, 1-4 SCIAC) heads to Los Angeles for the Bruin Invite on Sunday, April 3, for a pair of non-conference games against NCAA Division I foes.  At 11 a.m., the Bulldogs take on No. 2 UCLA and then face 11th-ranked San Jose State University at 3 p.m.
