The University of Redlands women's water polo team took to the road on Saturday for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match-up against Whittier College.  Amidst a defensive battle, the Bulldogs faced an early four-goal deficit before holding the Poets to just one goal in three periods.  However, the Whittier defense limited Redlands to just two goals, resulting in the 2-5 defeat for the Maroon and Gray.

During the first period, the Poets jumped out to a 4-0 lead.  Although the Bulldogs finished the contest on a 2-1 run through the final three frames, it was not enough to overcome the early hole.

Sophomore driver Annie Kinney (Newport Beach, CA) scored both netters for the Maroon and Gray, firing off one in each of the second and third stanzas.

Redlands (9-15, 1-1 SCIAC) welcomes Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to the Thompson Aquatic Center on Wednesday, April 2, for a 7 p.m. showdown against the Sagehens.
