Redlands Rewind with Ally Busch: October 9, 2018

Redlands Rewind with Ally Busch: October 9, 2018

This week's Redlands Rewind takes us back to October 9, 2018, when the University of Redlands women's volleyball team defeated Chapman University at home in Currier Gym for the first time in eight years.  The Bulldogs prevailed by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 13-25, 25-22 to cap off a four-match win streak.

Senior Ally Busch was starting as the libero for the first time in her young career in this match.  For those who don't know, the libero wears a different-colored jersey and provides important defensive and serve-receive skills from the back row.

At the time, Chapman was the second-place team in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), when Redlands handed the Panthers their third loss of conference competition.

"The energy throughout the game was insane and, after the winning point, the whole team ran to the middle of the court to celebrate. [This was] an unforgettable moment and a constant motivator to keep working hard," Busch commented.

Busch finished the night with three crafty kills, five assists, and 29 digs in a solid effort in her debut as the libero.
