WHITTIER, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Tennis team acted as spoiler Friday afternoon beating Whittier College 9-0 on their Senior Day.
The Bulldogs built off of a strong Ojai Championships, picking up their second clean sweep on the season as they improve to 10-5, 5-1 SCIAC.
Redlands got to work quickly sweeping doubles. Kendall Bolock (Yucaipa, CA) and Gabby Rockwood (Park City, UT) won 8-2 at the top spot, Mia Fitzgerald (Kilauea, HI) and Liv Rockwood (Park City, UT) rolled 8-1 at No. 2 and freshmen duo Christine O'Brien (Leawood, KS) and Kiana Brady (Hermosa Beach, CA) cruised to the 8-1 win picking up the clean sweep.
Things got worse for the Poets in singles as Redlands gave up just seven games total across all six spots. Bolock picked up a couple bagels 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, while Brady, L. Rockwood, Lexi Lehman (Scottsdale, AZ) and G. Rockwood would win 6-1, 6-0 | 6-0, 6-1 | 6-0, 6-1 | 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2, No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6.
The only contested match would occur at No. 4 from Fitzgerald who gave up three games, but still cruised 6-1, 6-2 to pick up the clean sweep for the Maroon and Grey.
Redlands has their final home match of 2022 tomorrow, Saturday, April 30 when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps beginning at 10:00am.
