No. 29 Redlands Women's Tennis Triumphs over Hardin-Simmons 9-0

The No. 29 University of Redlands women's tennis team cruised to a solid win over Hardin-Simmons University (TX) by a score of 9-0 on Saturday on Verdieck courts.

With solid results throughout the lineup, the Bulldogs jumped on the board with a sweep of the doubles matches.  Senior Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) and junior Karen Kobayashi (Sappora, Japan) got things started with an 8-3 victory at No. 2. First-years Kendall Bolock (Yucaipa, CA) and Gabby Rockwood (Park City, UT) then notched an 8-5 victory at No. 3 while sophomore Halle Martinucci (Burlingame, CA) and first-year Olivia Rockwood (Park City, UT) quickly followed suit with the same result. 

G. Rockwood continued to roll with her 6-2, 6-1 effort at No. 6 singles, as Martinucci officially put this one in the books with her 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 5.

In addition, O. Rockwood, Bolock, sophomore Mia Fitzgerald (Hanalei, HI), and junior Lexi Lehman (Scottsdale, AZ) all recorded wins in singles for the straight-set sweep.

The Bulldogs (3-1, 1-0 SCIAC) face Babson College (MA) on Friday, March 20, in a non-conference tilt on Verdieck Courts.  First serve is set for 3 p.m.
