The No. 25 University of Redlands women's tennis team welcomed the No. 30 Chapman University Panthers to Verdieck Courts on Saturday for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match.  After charging out to a 2-1 lead in the doubles, the Bulldogs stayed the course and captured four of the six singles to earn the 6-3 triumph.

Junior Kate Dolan (St. Louis, MO) and sophomore Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) put Redlands on the board with an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 slot.  Although Chapman evened the tally with a win at No. 3, junior Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) and sophomore Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) answered for the Maroon and Gary by topping their No. 1 opponents in an 8-5 decision.

First-year Lexi Lehman (Scottsdale, AZ) kept things rolling for the Bulldogs in singles, as she came away victorious at No. 3 by scores of 6-3, 6-1.  First-year Karen Kobayashi (Sappora, Japan) followed suit at No. 5 with her 6-1, 6-2 victory to make 4-1, which set up Ikioka's clincher at the No. 1 spot.  With a solid performance, Ikioka registered a 6-4, 6-2 to seal the deal on the team's triumph.

In addition, Dolan recorded a straight-set win at No. 6.

Redlands (9-8, 3-1 SCIAC) hosts Cal Lutheran University on Friday, April 13, at 3 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
