No. 25 U of R Women's Tennis Sweeps Occidental Tigers

The No. 25 University of Redlands women's tennis team traveled to Eagle Rock for Friday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match against the Occidental College Tigers.  With solid results throughout the lineup, the Bulldogs swept the Tigers in resounding fashion for a 9-0 win.

Senior Emily Murnin (Salt Lake City, UT) and freshman Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) got things started at No. 2 doubles with their 8-4 victory, before freshman Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) and sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) followed suit with an 8-3 showing at the top slot.  The No. 3 tandem of sophomore Kate Dolan (St. Louis, MO) and junior Claire Bohoskey (Yakima, WA) completed the Bulldogs' strong start with an 8-5 result.

In singles, Redlands continued to roll with sophomore Madison Ross' (San Diego, CA) dominating performance at the No. 6 slot, 6-0, 6-0.  Lacy officially put this one in the books with her 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4.

Murnin, Dolan, Ikioka, and Johnson each recorded straight-set wins to secure the Maroon and Gray sweep.

Redlands (7-10, 4-2 SCIAC) looks forward to celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, April 15, by taking on Caltech at 10 a.m. on Verdieck Courts.
