No. 28 Bulldog Women's Tennis Cruises by Principia College, 9-0

The No. 28 University of Redlands women's tennis team played host to Principia College (IL) on Saturday for a non-conference showdown against an unfamiliar foe.  With impressive domination, the Bulldogs shut out the Panthers for their second 9-0 win in a row.

The Maroon and Gray came out firing in the doubles with a quick 8-0 result coming from senior Emily Murnin (Salt Lake City, UT) and freshman Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) at the No. 2 slot.  Sophomore Kate Dolan (St. Louis, MO) and junior Claire Bohoskey (Yakima, WA) continued the Bulldogs' cruise control with an 8-1 win at No. 3.  Freshman Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) and sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) completed the sweep for Redlands with an 8-4 win at the top slot.

In singles, it was much of the same, as Murnin blanked her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 before Lacy officially put this one in the books with her 6-1, 6-0 showing at No. 4.

In addition, Ikioka, Johnson, Dolan, and sophomore Madison Ross (San Diego, CA) each recorded straight-set wins in the remaining matches.

Redlands (4-8) takes on No. 26 Whitman College (WA) on Friday, March 31, in an important in-region showdown on Verdieck Courts.  First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
