The No. 28 University of Redlands women's tennis team squared off against Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent, Whittier College, on Friday afternoon in the squad's first road match since February 4.  The Bulldogs blanked the Poets with dominating results throughout the lineup.

In doubles, Redlands began the day with a point due to an insufficient roster at Whittier.  From here, the Bulldogs saw senior Emily Murnin (Salt Lake City, UT) and freshman Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) take care of business at the No. 2 slot with an 8-0 win, while the top tandem of freshman Sarah Ikioka (Wailuku, HI) and sophomore Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) came away with an 8-4 victory to secure the doubles sweep.

In singles, the Bulldogs gained an automatic point at No. 6 with a default win, before Murnin officially sealed the deal with her 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 2.  In addition, Ikioka, Lacy, and sophomores Kate Dolan (St. Louis, MO) and Madison Ross (San Diego, CA) each recorded straight-set wins.

Redlands (3-8, 1-1 SCIAC) returns home to Verdieck Courts for a non-conference bout against Principia College (IL) on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m.
