Talented Trio Represents Redlands on the All-SCIAC Women's Lacrosse Team

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2021 All-Conference Women's Lacrosse Team earlier today, with the University of Redlands gaining three members among the honorees.  Junior Maeve Wiencek (Sherwood, OR), junior Casey Lynch (Mount Lebanon, PA), and first-year Celine Flaig (Redondo Beach, CA) were selected to the eight-woman list for their contributions during the pandemic-shortened season.

In her third season, Wiencek, known for her hustle and work ethic, recorded one goal and one assist for two points.  She also pulled in one draw control. This dedicated team-first contributor consistently found ways to set up others for success in transition and on the attacking end of the field.

Lynch, who is a true defender, stepped up offensively for the Bulldogs' stretched roster.  She provided three goals and one assist for four points during her third season at Redlands.  She hauled in five ground balls and one draw control with her tenacious efforts.  She also stymied the opponents by causing four turnovers.

Flaig burst onto the scene at Redlands with a conference-leading 10 goals and one assist for 11 points. She converted three of her four free-position opportunities and produced an overall shots-on-goal percentage of 85.7.  With impressive resolve and determination, she corralled nine ground balls, snagged five draw controls, and caused five opponent turnovers. Flaig was named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week on April 26.

Flaig, Lynch, and Wiencek all receive their inaugural All-Conference nods with this year's honor.
