The University of Redlands women's lacrosse team made the short trek to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Tuesday to face the Sagehens in the final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) game of the regular season.  After a slow start, the Bulldogs struggled to recover and ultimately lost by a score of 8-16.

Less than 10 minutes into the action, Redlands faced a three-goal hole and worked from behind for the remainder of the contest.  Sophomore midfielder Hanna Morford (West Linn, OR) ended the scoring drought for the Maroon and Gray by converting a free-position shot at the 20:13-mark.

Unfortunately for the visitors, the Sagehens continued to roll and extended their lead with back-to-back goals.

Redlands pulled one back with 10:55 remaining on the first-half clock when Morford fired off her second goal of the game.

However, Pomona-Pitzer closed out the half on a 4-0 run to sit comfortably in front.

The Bulldogs continued to fight with sophomore attack player Adi Fellows (Albuquerque, NM), junior midfielder Lacey Bjorndal (Sherwood, OR), and freshman attack player Sadie Pickering (Tacoma, WA) combining for five of Redlands' goals in the second half.

Morford finished the game as she started it with the final score of the night to complete her hat trick.

The Maroon and Gray produced quality numbers in most statistical categories, including draw controls.  Bjorndal was instrumental in this bright spot by hauling in six of the team's 12.

With the seeding of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament already set, the outcome of tonight's game had no impact on Redlands' next match.  The Bulldogs (9-7, 4-6 SCIAC) travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday, April 29, for an 11 a.m. showdown against the top-seeded Athenas in the opening game of the tournament.
