The University of Redlands women's lacrosse team traveled to Whittier College on Wednesday night for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown with the Poets.  After giving up the first goal of the game, the Bulldogs erupted for 13-consecutive scores to take a commanding lead and never looked back en route to the 17-3 victory.

With the Bulldogs trailing early, junior midfielder Stephanie Garrett (San Diego, CA) fired off back-to-back scores to put her team up for the first and last time by the 25:52-mark of the opening half.

From here, Redlands found the back of the net every few minutes to garner a 13-1 advantage midway through the second half. Garrett notched all five of her game-high netters in the first period, while senior midfielder Emily Dalrymple (Snohomish, WA) fired off four goals through the first 30 seconds of the second frame.

Sophomore attack player Dulce Moll (Mercer Island, WA) and freshman attack player McKenna Tychsen (Park City, UT) offered multi-goal efforts, with Moll providing a hat trick for the Maroon and Gray.

In addition, junior attack player Shannon Sunnergren (Livermore, CA) dished out a pair of assists for the Bulldogs.

Defensively, Redlands smothered the Poets, notching double-digit caused turnovers for the fifth time this season.  Freshman attack player Katy Miele (Rumson, NJ) and junior midfielder Ellen Holt (Happy Valley, OR) forced three apiece.

The Bulldogs also dominated the draw-control battle with a 14-7 advantage by using a well-balanced effort among the players.  Garrett and junior midfielder Sam Keary (Mission Viejo, CA) each pulled in three to lead the squad.

Redlands (9-6, 5-4 SCIAC) travels to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Monday, April 20, for a 7 p.m. match-up with the conference-leading Sagehens.
