CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Sophomore Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA) of the No. 3 ranked University of Redlands Women's Golf team was officially recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) this week following her seventh-place finish at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships in Houston, TX earlier this month.

Over the four rounds she posted a combined score of 293, which included scores of 75-72-71-75 and was the top finisher for the Maroon and Grey.    

This marks the second straight year Liu has been recognized by the WGCA as an All-American finding her way onto the 2nd Team back in 2021.  This year she put together her best season yet being named 1st Team All-SCIAC, 1st Team All-West Region and now an Honorable Mention All-American.

Liu played in eleven tournaments this year with a 76.17 Average, with a low round score of a 70, coming during the CA State Intercollegiate.  On the year she totaled a 5.04 Par 5 Scoring Average, a 3.26 Par 3 Scoring Average, and a 4.30 Par 4 Scoring Average.  She added seven Top-10 finishes on the season, which included taking 3rd at SCIAC No. 2, 6th at the SCIAC Championships, and then 7th at the NCAA Division III National Championships.  She finished the year ranked No. 9 in the West Region and No. 22 nationally in Division III.

Redlands put together the best single season in program history this year finishing as Runners-Up at the NCAA Division III National Championships, the best finish at nationals in program history.  They had four players named All-SCIAC (Hannah Jugar, Iris Liu, Kendall Nicholson, Andrea York), three players named WGCA All-West Region (Hannah Jugar, Andrea York, Iris Liu), two players named WGCA All-Americans (Hannah Jugar, Iris Liu), and as a team qualified for the National Championships for the fifth time in program history.
