Bulldogs move up three spots to 4th at NCAA Championships

HOUSTON, TX – The University of Redlands Women's Golf team moved up three spots on the leaderboard Wednesday following Round 2 competition at the NCAA Division III National Championships. 

The Maroon and Grey shot a 306 (+18) as a team that moved them into a tie for 4th Place.  They have now combined to go 304-306 (610) over their two rounds.  They currently trail No. 1 Emory University (1st – 588), No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer (2nd – 602), and No. 6 George Fox University (3rd – 609).  Right now in a tie for 4th is No. 2 Carnegie Mellon (610), No. 5 University of Redlands (610), and No. 10 Washington & Lee (610).

Currently Redlands is No. 2 in Par 3 Scoring (3.10 | +4), No. 5 in Par 4 Scoring (4.36 | +36), and No. 10 in Par 5 Scoring (5.28 |+11).  They have totaled 109 Pars and 18 Birdies. 

Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, CA) led the Bulldogs on Day 2 shooting even par with a 72 (E), which included four birdies, three of which came on the backside (-2).  She is now in a tie for 10th and moved up five spots.  Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) and Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) each posted 77's on the day combining for three birdies.  Jugar dropped six spots into a tie for 20th and Nicholson remains in a tie for 28th

Malia Kiger (Hermosa Beach, CA) for the second straight day shot an 80 despite opening the round up with a birdie on Hole 10.  Andrea York (Oakdale, CA) then posted an 81, which included three birdies.  Both Kiger and York are now tied in 68th.       

Redlands will move onto Day 3 action tomorrow, Thursday, May 12 when they tackle the Bay Oaks Country Club once again.
