Bulldog Women's Golf and Jugar Take Second at Redlands Fall Shootout

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Golf team finished second as hosts of the Redlands Fall Shootout, a two-day event at The S Club in Rancho Mirage.

The Bulldogs (584) finished only one shot behind event winner Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (585). The Maroon and Grey were in second after day one of competition with a score of 293, one shot ahead of third place Pomona-Pitzer (294), but seven shots behind CMS (286).

U of R though bounced back on day two however dropping two strokes to shoot a 292 tying for the low team score with the Sagehens, while picking of six strokes on the Athenas.

Junior Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, Calif.) finished second overall in the individual leaderboard with a two-day score of 141 (71-70), two strokes behind the champion Stella Chang (CMS).

The Bulldogs got a total of three in the top-10 and five in the top-15.  Senior Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, Wash.) was the second finisher for UR taking sixth overall, with a two-day score of 147 (73-74). Sophomore Gabrielle Kiger (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) tied for eighth with a two-day score of 148 (75-73).

Sophomore Iris Liu (Diamond Bar, Calif.) was one of the two top-15 finishers, coming in at 12th with a two-day score of 150 (75-75). Sophomore Andrea York (Oakdale, Calif.) was right behind Liu, tying for 13th with a two-day score of 151 (74-77).

The Bulldogs return to competition on Monday, September 27 for a two-day event at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX for the Division III Preview Tournament.
