Redlands Women's Golf Ranked No. 1 in Division III on Pair of Polls

The University of Redlands women's golf team received five first-place votes on the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) poll to jump up five spots and claim the top ranking in Division III this morning. In addition, the Bulldogs took the top spot on the Golfstat list, which looks at the comparative record, relative percentage, and adjusted scoring average. Redlands owns an impressive adjusted scoring average of 73.63.

The Maroon and Gray fired off a first-place showing at the opening Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) tournament at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura last month. The Bulldogs won the event with an overall score of 579 and a 60-stroke lead over second place. The team came out of the gate all cylinders firing as they shot a record-breaking team score of 284 on day one.

The six that competed at the first conference tournament including first-year Gabbi Kiger (Hermosa Beach, CA), sophomore Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA), juniors Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) and Malia Kiger (Hermosa Beach, CA), and seniors Annie Hay (University Place, WA) and Mariah Moon (La Quinta, CA) land in the Top-10 amongst all Division III competitors with adjusted scoring averages ranging from 70.50 to 78.00.
