Trio of Women's Golfers Named WGCA All-American Scholars

It was announced earlier today that three members of the University of Redlands women's golf team were among 1,401 collegiate golfers across all divisions to be recognized as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars. To attain this prestigious honor, student-athletes must meet a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 and compete in the majority of the rounds in the shortened 2019-20 season.

Junior Mariah Moon (La Quinta, CA) receives her second-consecutive award. She averaged 78.88 over nine rounds this season. Her best round came at the Bulldog Fall Classic where she shot a 150 (77-73) and a tied-for-10th finish. She was just one of two athletes to record an eagle at the tournament as well.

Additionally, first-year Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) makes her inaugural appearance on the All-American Scholar team following an already impressive rookie campaign. Jugar is currently ranked No. 2 nationally with an adjusted scoring average of 73.66. She was also recently named to the WGCA All-West Region and All-America teams.

Finally, junior Mackenzie Kelly (Eastvale, CA) showcased her talents on the course and in the classroom with her first All-American Scholar selection. Kelly completed her first season with the Maroon and Gray averaging a 79.99. She took the top spot at a tri-match against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and Chapman University, completing the round in 71 strokes earlier this fall season.

Overall, this talented trio helped Redlands to a final ranking of No. 9 on WGCA and No. 4 on GolfStat.
