Women's Golf Welcomes Five New Student-Athletes to the Program

Coming off of a record-setting 2019-2020 season that was unfortunately cut short due to COVID-19, the University of Redlands women's golf team would like to announce the five student-athletes becoming Bulldogs for Life this upcoming Fall.

Andrea York, a graduate of Oakdale High School (Oakdale, CA), is a four-time All-Valley Oak League golfer. Throughout her career, York was integral to her team's success as they went on a four-year undefeated streak and won three section championships.

Iris Liu, a graduate of Diamond Bar High School (Diamond Bar, CA), has a strong track record on the SCPGA Junior Tour finishing amongst the Top-Five eight times.  Lui also finished fourth at the Chappy Wheeler High School Golf Tournament shooting (69-75) at the Lakes Country Club.

Jacqueline Steier, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy (Louisville, KY), is a four-year letter winner for SHA.  As a strong four-year competitor, Steier was a two-time All-Region recipient and won two state championships with her team.

Gabrielle Kiger, a graduate of Mira Costa High School (Manhattan Beach, CA), received All-Daily Breeze First-Team and All-Bay League First-Team nods as a student-athlete for the Mustangs. G. Kiger brings a host of successful competitive experience competing in the CIF-SS Championships.

Malia Kiger, a transfer from Vanguard University (Costa Mesa, CA), captured her first collegiate win this past season at the Ottawa University (AZ) Fall Invitational shooting an impressive (73-69-78). This individual win in addition to her All-GSAC First-Team campaign proves her successful track record in collegiate golf.

Head Coach Jack Stewart comments, "I am excited to welcome Andrea, Iris, Jacqueline, Gabrielle, and Malia to Redlands. I have been working very hard to hand-select highly self-motivated student-athletes who are looking for a challenging academic rigor in addition to the opportunity to compete on a nationally ranked college golf team.  I am confident that all five of these student-athletes fit that description and we cannot wait to get to work this Fall!"
