No. 9 Bulldog Women's Golf Takes Home Top Medalist Honors at SCIAC No. 1

Led by first-year Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) who took the top individual spot, the No. 9 University of Redlands women's golf team took first place overall at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) No. 1 Tournament at Via Verde Golf Course in San Dimas. The whole team placed in the top-10 and shot an impressive 596 over two rounds, 15 strokes in front of second place.

Jugar shot a 69 on day one for first place and impressed with another 69 on day two to secure first-place (138) by a huge nine-stroke difference.

Sophomore Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) and junior Mariah Moon (La Quinta, CA) followed close behind, tying each other for fourth-place. Both women scored a 151 two-round total as Nicholson shot a 75-76 while Moon tallied a 77-74 over the couple of days.

Similarly, both junior Annie Hay (University Place, WA) and junior Mackenzie Kelly (Eastvale, CA) tied-for-tenth place with a 36-hole total of 157. Both golfers regrouped for a lower second-day score as Hay shot an 82-75 while Kelly scored an 81-76.

The team looks forward to competing in the George Fox University Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Course in Peoria, AZ on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15.
