Redlands Women's Golf Battles to 11th Place at Prestigious PLNU Reach Tournament

The University of Redlands women's golf team battled it out against tough competition at the PLNU Reach Tournament at the Riverwalk Golf Course in San Diego on Monday and Tuesday.  While getting back into the swing of the spring season, the Bulldogs finished 11th with a 36-hole tally of 693 (345-348) among the NCAA Division II and III field. 

Senior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) led the Maroon and Gray with her tied-for-15th finish at 158 (81-77).  She recorded a 3.38 average on the par threes and scored 4.40 in par-four scoring.  She also tapped in five birdies over the two rounds. 

First-year Annie Hay (University Place, WA) scored consistent rounds of 88 and 89 for a 177, while first-year Elise Kiya (Palo Alto, CA) came away from her first-ever collegiate tournament with the Bulldogs with a score of 180 (93-87).  First-years Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) and Emily Duncan (Murrieta, CA) notched respective 36-hole totals of 183 and 186.  Duncan impressed with a pair of birdies on the difficult course.

Redlands looks forward to hosting the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 1 at Arrowhead Country Club on Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25.
