No. 7 Bulldog Women's Golf Falls to Third Place through Two Rounds of the SCIAC Championship Tournament

The No. 7 University of Redlands women's golf team dropped nine strokes on day two of the 2017 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship Tournament but it was not enough to move up in the standings.  The Bulldogs shot a 314 on Monday at Los Serranos Golf Club but fell into third place with a 36-hole tally of 637, which is just three strokes behind second place.

In the overall aggregate scoring that includes all six conference rounds so far, Redlands remains in second place with a total of 1,919, with 18 holes to go.  Unfortunately, the Bulldogs face a 41-stroke gap between them and the leaders from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges for first place.

After Monday's outing, junior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) maintained her tied-for-fourth-place position with a two-day tally of 154 (74-80).  She currently leads the field on the par-five holes with a plus-one average of 5.13.  Overall, she has four birdies and 20 pars.

Senior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) improved her second round by four strokes to complete Monday's competition in a tie for 11th at 160 (82-78).  With an even 3.00, she sits among the top three in the field for par-three scoring.  She has recorded 21 pars and two birdies thus far.

Senior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) closely followed with a 36-hole score of 161 with today's round of 79.  She also has posted two birdies and 21 pars in the tournament so far.

After shooting the best Bulldog round of the day at 77, freshman Jasmine Hsu (Fremont, CA) sits in a tie for 16th at 162. Like her teammates, she has 21 pars in the opening 36 holes.

Senior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) also showed improvement on Monday by decreasing her round by 12 strokes to an 82.  With a two-day total of 176, she sits in 32nd place.

Redlands strives to finish strong in the final round of the 54-hole tournament at Los Serranos Golf Course on Tuesday, April 25.
