With senior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) pacing the tournament field, the No. 7 University of Redlands women's golf team completed day two of the 2016 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SCIAC) Championships with a score of 316 to remain atop the overall leaderboard. The Bulldogs own a 14-stroke lead ahead of second-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges with 18 holes remaining.
Dorsey continues to lead the tournament after carding a 77 for a two-day total of 150 (73-77).
Sophomore Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) moved up one spot in the individual standings to third by shaving off two strokes from Sunday's round for a 36-hole tally of 152 (77-75). Junior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) remains among the tournament's top five with her two-round score of 157 (77-80).
In addition, junior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) recorded a score of 166 (82-84) to sit 22nd in the player standings, while junior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) entered the club house with a round of 86 for a total of 169 (83-86) to tie for 25th.
In terms of the aggregate scoring that determines the SCIAC champion, the Bulldogs currently sit in first place with a total of 1,931 with 18 holes remaining. Redlands holds a 17-stroke lead over second-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (1,955) and a 30-stroke advantage over Whittier College (1,961) in the overall standings.
Redlands looks forward to closing out the final round of the SCIAC Championships on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at Oak Valley Golf Course.
