Caroline Ordian's First-Place Showing Propels Redlands Women's Golf to Solid Finish at SCIAC Tournament No. 2

The No. 8 University of Redlands women's golf team competed in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 2 on Saturday and Sunday at the South Hills Country Club in West Covina.  With sophomore Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) earning medalist honors, the Bulldogs tied for second with a 36-hole total of 676 on the challenging course.

Ordian ranked first among the field in par fours (4.25) and par fives (5.1) en route to winning the tournament with a two-round score of 154 (76-78).  While tallying 20 pars and three birdies over the 36 holes, she earned medalist honors with an eight-stroke lead over the second-place competitor.

In addition, junior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) tied for ninth overall with her score of 171 (86-85) after notching 11 pars and five birdies. 

Senior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) signed her scorecard with 16 pars for a 175 (88-87) to tie for 14th.  After notching 13 pars, junior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) closely followed with a score of 176 (90-86), which tied her for 20th overall.

Junior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) completed the top five for the Maroon and Gray by tallying rounds of 91 and 92.

While combining their scores of the first two SCIAC tournaments, the Bulldogs have moved into first place in the conference standings with a four-stroke lead at 1306.

Redlands looks forward to competing in the three-round SCIAC Championships on Sunday, April 24, through Tuesday, April 26, at the Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont.
