Caroline Ordian's Medalist Honor Propels Redlands Women's Golf to Sixth-Place Finish at PLNU Reach 2016 Tournament

While competing against multiple NCAA Division II and NAIA teams, the top-ranked University of Redlands women's golf team opened the spring season with a sixth-place finish at the Point Loma Nazarene Reach 2016 Tournament at the Riverwalk Country Club in San Diego on Monday and Tuesday.  Sophomore Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) took home the medalist honor with a 36-hole total of 144 to lead the Bulldogs to a team tally of 647 at the high-quality event.

Ordian paced the field with consecutive rounds of 72, which landed her atop the leaderboard by five strokes.  She also led all golfers with 10 birdies to go along with 18 pars. She tied for first in par-three scoring (3.00) and ranked first on par fours (4.05). 

Junior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) served as the Maroon and Gray's second golfer, earning a two-round total of 165 (82-83) to tie for 23rd overall.  Overall, she notched four birdies at the tournament.

Senior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) entered the clubhouse on Tuesday with a score of 168 to tie for 34th overall.  She recorded rounds of 82 and 86 while notching three birdies. 

Junior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) and senior McKenna Pautsch (San Clemente, CA) earned respective totals of 170 and 177 to complete the Bulldogs' top six.

Redlands looks forward to hosting the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 1 on February 20-21 at the Tukwet Canyon Golf Course in Beaumont.
