No. 5 Redlands Women's Golf Takes Second at UCSC Spring Invite

The No. 5 University of Redlands women's golf team fired off a two-round total of 643 to take second place at the UC Santa Cruz Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.  The Bulldogs sat just four strokes behind No. 2 George Fox University (OR) after the opening round but suffered through a rough Sunday on the Pacific Grove Golf Links to fall behind by 19 strokes.  However, the Maroon and Gray finished 41 strokes ahead of third-place Berry College (GA).

Leading the Bulldogs, freshman Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) posted a second-place score of 151 (74-77), which was just four strokes behind the medalist.

Junior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) and senior Dalton Meade (Sandy, OR) tied for seventh in the individual standings, with each recording a 36-hole total of 165. 

Sophomore Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) provided consistent rounds of 84 to finish 10th overall.  In addition, sophomore Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) and junior McKenna Pautsch (San Clemente, CA) each completed the par-72 course with a score of 169.  R. Gordon shaved off eight strokes for a solid second day, while Pautsch put together an impressive opening round of 78.

Redlands now looks forward to competing in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 2 on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, at Upland Hills Country Club.
