SCIAC Women's Basketball Weekly Release No. 9

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week in the ninth week of voting and University of Redlands graduate student Alyssa Downs (South San Francisco, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.

Downs dropped 17.5 points per game on 56% shooting from the floor, including a 60% mark on three-pointers with six made, in victories over Chapman University and California Lutheran University. She also added 15 rebounds, four assists and a steal across the pair of wins that kept the Bulldogs in a tie for second place in the conference.

Redlands returns to the court tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18 at 7:00pm when they travel to Claremont, CA to take on the Athenas of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.  Both teams are tied in second place within the conference standings.
