Following its Thanksgiving road trip, the University of Redlands women's basketball team returned to Southern California for a non-conference match-up against Biola University on Tuesday night in La Mirada.  The Bulldogs battled with the Eagles but trailed from the first basket, as a difficult shooting night plagued them and led to a 47-66 defeat.

After facing a 10-point deficit in the first quarter, the Maroon and Gray clawed its way back to make it a two-point game early in the second stanza.  Redlands took advantage of its opportunities at the charity stripe, while sophomore forward Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) and junior guard Jade Cheldelin (Portland, OR) converted additional buckets to make it a 16-18 game.  In addition, the Bulldog defense forced the home team into multiple possessions without a score.

Unfortunately, Biola's offense made the necessary adjustments to eventually pull away with the solid win.

Cheldelin led the Maroon and Gray with her 16 points, which came on a 7-for-18 shooting performance.  Ta'amu finished the night with 15 points, including nine from the stripe, and 10 boards for her second double-double of the season.

Sophomore forward Allison Siksnus (Placentia, CA) provided quality minutes off the bench by scoring four points at the line in just nine minutes of action.

Redlands (2-4) travels to La Sierra University on Saturday, December 5, for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Golden Eagles in non-conference action.
