Bulldog Track & Field competes at Whittier Twilight Meet

WHITTIER, Calif. – The University of Redlands Track & Field Team competed in the Whittier Twilight Meet Friday afternoon coming away with six victories. 

Women

Three wins came on the women's side.  Leading the track events was Alexis Wallace (Orangevale, CA) who won the 5000m with a time of 18:08.54, which now places her 6th All-Time in the University of Redlands record books.  First year Maigan Adams (Los Angeles, CA) continues to impress in the jumps winning the Triple Jump with an 11.27m mark, which moves her to 5th All-Time in the record books.  Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) took home the other top performance coming in the Discus where she grabbed a mark of 38.06m.  She also finished 7th in the Discus (9.92m).

Other notable finishes included Destiny Jacobo (Running Springs, CA) in the 1500m who took 4th with a time of 5:18.52.  Sheriane Greene (Grass valley, CA) joined Wallace in the 5000m taking 3rd with a 19:29.02.  Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR) came away with a pair of 3rd place finishes in the High Jump (1.40m) and the Javelin (29.57m).  Courtney O'Neal (Las Vegas, NV) almost took home the win in the Long Jump finishing 2nd with a 5.29m jump.  She then returned in the Triple Jump joining Adams taking 5th with a mark of 9.76m.  Christen Wiley (South San Francisco, CA) was the last competitor in the jumps taking 4th in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.64m. 

For the throws Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) took home two 5th place finishes coming in the Shot Put (10.74m) and Javelin (26.11m).  Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) would post a 36.96m mark in the Hammer, which placed her 2nd overall and then followed that up finishing 4th in the Discus (31.35m).  The last Bulldog to compete in the throws was Katelyn Sheldon (Port Angeles, WA) who took 11th in the Discus (21.00m) and 7th in the Hammer (29.59m).                            

Men

The men picked up another three victories on the day for the Maroon and Grey.  Allyn Asberry-Blanco (Orange County, NY) took home the top mark in the Triple Jump with a 13.38.  Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) who competed in three events won the High Jump with a 1.90m mark and then took 4th in the Long Jump (5.94m) and 6th in the Javelin (36.29m).  The last win came in the 200m from Cristian Megas (Palmdale, CA) who posted a time of 21.74.  He also competed in the 100m coming in 2nd with a time of 10.83. 

Other top performances on the day for Redlands came from Cooper Malerstein (Huntington Beach, CA) who took 3rd in the 100m (11.05) and 4th in the 200m (22.68).  Easton Means (Moraga, CA) took 4th in the 1500m (4:32.84) and was followed by Alejandro Ayala (Fontana, CA) in 5th (4:35.71).  Michael Meheen (Carmel, CA) converted a height of 4.30m in the Pole Vault to finish 3rd.  He was joined by Corte Peterson (Lafayette, CO) who finished 5th (4.00m).

The Bulldogs had five runners in the 5000m led by Rogelio Salicido (Beaumont, CA) who finished 7th (15:57.84).  He was followed by Brandon Farnsworth (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) (8th – 16:01.37), Quentin Olive-Larson (Fort Collins, CO) (9th – 16:15.85), Joey Roberts (San Diego, CA) (10th – 16:17.21), and Miguel Fausto (Whittier, CA) (12th – 16:36.23).             

In the throws Tyler Davies (Lake Forest, CA) led the trio of Bulldogs taking 3rd in the Shot Put (13.98m) and 7th in the Discus (33.85m).  Wyatt Gibson posted an 11.50m mark in the Shot Put and then followed that up with a 9th place finish in the Discus (30.26m).  Sebastian Saucedo (Modesto, CA) was the last Bulldog to score taking 10th in the Discus (20.54m) and 5th in the Javelin (37.19m).
