It was announced on Thursday that the University of Redlands men's and women's track & field teams hauled in nine awards from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academic and athletic success.

Each of the Bulldog squads garnered All-Academic Team status for surpassing the minimum combined cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.1.  Redlands' 24-member men's team earned a mark of 3.47, while the Maroon & Gray's 25 women impressed with an average GPA of 3.54.  More than 450 men's teams and more than 650 women's teams earned this distinction in NCAA Division III.

The U of R teams also gained seven All-Academic selections for those student-athletes who exceeded the minimum GPA of 3.3 while finishing among the top 50 for individual events and top 35 for relays, as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS.

Senior Jason Waters (Troutdale, OR) represented the men with this honor for his success as a Biology major and decathlete.  He broke into the top 50 with a score of 5,738 points at the Redlands Final Qualifier meet.

Sophomore Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA), senior Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR), and junior Courtney O'Neal (Las Vegas, NV) received the All-Academic award for their 11th-fastest time of 47.63 in the 4x100 Relay, which came at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.  Ackerman repeats as an honoree as a Psychology major, while O'Neal receives her second selection as an Environmental Studies major.  A four-time recipient of this award as a Biology major, Albrecht also ranked 13th in the Heptathlon with a score of 4,569 points.

Senior Brenna Dolen (Redlands, CA) earned back-to-back recognition from the USTFCCCA for scholarly achievement as a talented jumper.  This season, she ranked 33rd in the Triple Jump (37' 11 ¼") and 44th in the Long Jump (18' 1 ½").

First-year discus thrower Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) collected her inaugural USTFCCCA All-Academic honor as a Chemistry major.  Her season-best mark of 134' 0" at the SCIAC Championships landed her 50th among the TFRRS descending list.

Finally, junior Isabella Glenn (Seattle, WA) snags this accolade for the first time as a Health, Medicine, and Society major who excelled at the 3000 Steeplechase.  She ran the 47th-best time in NCAA Division III during the Redlands Final Qualifier meet by crossing the line in 11:29.91.
