We Love R Seniors - Women's Track and Field

The University of Redlands and Bulldog Athletics would like to take a moment to celebrate the seven women's track and field athletes whose spring season was sadly cut short due to the swiftly changing conditions of the current time.

This senior has dominated the Hurdles for four seasons with the Maroon and Gray. She has combined for 36 top-three finishes in her career, 17 of them being first-place standards. She ends the season currently ranked No. 1 in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 14.27 and third in the 60 Hurdles with a time of 8.75. The 2019 SCIAC Athlete of the Year has advanced to three NCAA Outdoor Championships and two NCAA Indoor Championships. In 2019, she turned in her fastest career time of 13.97 in the 100 Hurdles at the Redlands Final Qualifier. She also competed in the 100 Hurdles in 14.01 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to place third for her top national finish. This Biology major and Spanish minor hopes to become a doctor upon receiving her degree in April. From Las Vegas, Nevada, Jessica Fields!

Next up, this graduate student has contributed three years in the throwing pits for the Bulldogs. In each of her SCIAC Multi-Dual meets in her career, she has placed in the top three in 11-of-12 events. In 2019, she swept the Discus Throw and the Hammer Throw with distances of 118' 4" and 146' 1", respectively. In her most recent performance in early May, she also swept the Discus and Hammer events with improved distances of 134' 4" and 154' 11". Coming from San Gabriel, Katie Gonzalez!

Our next senior has given her all in a myriad of events over her four-year career with Redlands. She has provided points in over 10 different events, including each discipline within the Pentathlon and Heptathlon. She sits second all-time in Redlands' history with a score of 4,608 in the Heptathlon. She has advanced to the Outdoor National Championships in each of her four years and the Indoor Championships once in 2019. Her top performance at the Championships was a seventh-place finish in the Heptathlon with a score of 4,566. She also helped earn the 4x100 Relay title at the SCIAC Championships in 2019 and owns eight top-three finishes at the Conference Championships throughout her career. A Communication Sciences and Disorders major from Big Bear Lake, Chyenne Kimble!

This senior has enjoyed a successful four-year career with the Maroon and Gray. She sits second in Redlands history in the 5,000 Meter and 10,000 Meter with times of 17.35.7 and 37.19.04, respectively. She has advanced to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in three consecutive years with her fastest 6k time of 21.50.1 in 2017. She owns six first-place finishes and one top-three SCIAC Championship finish. This English and Liberal Studies major aspires to become a teacher upon graduation next month. Next up is another senior that has dedicated four years to the Bulldogs. She earned her top finish of her career in her second season with a 10:33.12 time in the 4x800 Relay. At the 2018 SCIAC Outdoor Championships, she ran a 41:55.04 in the 10,000 Meter for an eighth-place performance. Her fastest 6k time of her career came at the 2019 Highlander Invitational earlier this season. In her track and field race in March, she stopped the clock in 19:26.06 in the 5,000 Meter to take third place. A Psychology major from Lafayette, Sarah Shipway!

Our next senior has also made an impact in her four years as a Bulldog. She earned a ninth-place finish at the 2019 SCIAC Championships in the 10,000 Meter with a time of 42.16.56. She ran the fastest 6k of her career in her sophomore season with a time of 24:44.2 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. In her most recent 5,000 Meter race at SCIAC No. 1 in March, she crossed the line in fifth place with a time of 19:45.73. This senior plans to graduate with a degree in English Literature and Physical Education. From Tustin, Karli Stichter!

Last, but not least, another four-year Bulldog rounds out the 2020 class. She earned her top SCIAC Cross Country Championship finish in the 6k with a time of 23:16.3 for 16th place. This senior's top 6k time came in October at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 22:59.2, while her fastest Mile time of 5:30.79 came at the Pomona-Pitzer Collegiate All-Comers meet in February. In her last performance in March, she earned fifth place in the 1500 Meter with a time of 5:02.72 and a second-place finish in the 4x400 Relay in a time of 4:08.03. This senior plans to receive her degree in Psychology and Spanish next month. Hailing from Camas, Washington, Carly Veasy!
