Bulldog Quintet Headed to NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships

It was recently announced that five University of Redlands student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, which take place Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Seniors Chyenne Kimble (Big Bear Lake, CA) and Jessica Fields (Las Vegas, NV), juniors Brenna Dolen (Redlands, CA) and Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) and first-year Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, CA) is set to make the trip. Fields makes her third appearance, Kimble and Cargile make their second appearance while Dolen and Ackerman make their inaugural trip to this national meet as the largest class of Bulldog qualifiers for indoor track & field.  Last year, Cargile became the first-ever men's indoor qualifier from Redlands and has now made it for the second year in a row.

Fields enters the event as the third-ranked woman in the 60 Hurdles with a time of 8.75. Kimble follows close behind in fifth place in the nation with a time of 8.77. Fields made her qualifying run at the Mountain T Invitational at Northern Arizona University on February 1, while Kimble recorded the time at the NAU Tune-Up on the same track just three weeks later.

Kimble also qualifies for the Pentathlon with a score of 3,432. She currently sits 8th among those headed to the indoor championships.

Dolen makes her first appearance at indoor nationals in the Triple Jump. She qualified at the Mountain T Invitational with a leap of 38'2"0. She snags the 17th spot amongst all indoor competition.

In addition, Ackerman heads to the indoor national stage in the 60 Meter Dash with a seed time of 7.75 that she recorded at the NAU Tune-Up. This time ranks her 23rd in the country in this event.

Finally, Cargile heads to Winston-Salem to compete in the 800 Meter Dash with his seed time of 1:53.43. He ranks 10th among the qualifiers.  

Visit Winston-Salem and Guilford College will serve as the hosts of the upcoming meet.
