Bulldogs Excel at High-Caliber NAU Tune-Up Meet

Select members of the University of Redlands track & field teams returned to Flagstaff, AZ, on Friday afternoon to compete in the NAU Tune-Up indoor meet.  Among the two men and six women, the Bulldogs hauled in four top-three showings in a fine outing against quality competition.

After qualifying for the final of the 60 Meters, senior Luke Bohlinger (Mercer Island, WA) uncorked a solid time of 6.93 to finish third overall.  Sophomore Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) impressed in his Mile debut by completing the race in a speedy 4:22.33 for third place as well.

For the women, junior Chyenne Kimble (Big Bear Lake, CA) ran a 9.02 in the 60 Hurdles for the bronze, while junior Jessica Fields (Las Vegas, NV) closely followed in fourth with a time of 9.09.  Senior Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) also secured third place in the Shot Put with a heave of 47' 4 ½".

In addition, first-year Annick Bangou (Redlands, CA) qualified for the final of the 60 Dash and moved up one spot to seventh place by crossing the finish line in 7.85 for the fastest mark of her young career.  First-year Courtney O'Neal (Atlanta, GA) ran a time of 7.96 in the preliminary for 12th.

Furthermore, senior Kara Romani (Sacramento, CA) came in sixth in the Long Jump with a distance of 16' 11 ½".

Additional members of the Bulldog track & field teams open the outdoor season by competing in the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet on Saturday, February 16, at 11 a.m. in Claremont.
