Bulldog Women's Track & Field Represents Redlands at No. 24 on USTFCCCA National Rankings

The University of Redlands women's track & field team broke into the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Outdoor Rankings by landing at No. 24 in this week's top-25 list. 

This poll is determined by a mathematical formula that calculates points from the NCAA Division III Descending Order Lists from the current campaign.  Based on this methodology, the Bulldogs amassed 46.03 points for an improvement of 13.59 to break into the top 25.

Regionally, Redlands sits fourth in the West, with 17 different marks landing within the top 8, as highlighted by a pair of first-place marks.  Senior Vanessa Blanchard (Palmdale, CA) ranks at the top of the region for the High Jump (5' 5 ¾"), while senior Reyna Ta'amu (Lakewood, CA) leads the West in the Shot Put (43' ½").  Furthermore, sophomore Gabriella Gould (Bellingham, WA) and senior Mandy Widen (Vail, AZ) provide a strong combination in the Pole Vault by sitting second (11' 7 ¾") and third (11' 5 ¼"), respectively in the region.  Sophomore Chyenne Kimble (Big Bear Lake, CA) brings stellar marks that rank among the top eight in the 100 (eighth - 12.45), 200 (sixth - 25.53), and 100 Hurdles (second - 14.71).  She also runs on the second-fastest 4x400 Relay (4:01.71) and the third-ranked 4x100 Relay (48.49).

Although not among the national rankings, the Bulldog men's track & field team owns the No. 3 spot in the West Region for NCAA Division III.  Redlands boasts 16 marks among the top 8 in the region, including senior Wyatt Pannabecker (Choteau, MT) with the best Triple Jump at 47' 7 ¾".  Junior Nick Burchett (Gold River, CA) ranks second in the 400 Hurdles (54.61) and competes on the fourth-fastest 4x100 relay (42.09) and the second-best 4x400 relay (3:19.34).

Redlands looks forward to competing in the Jim Click Multis Shootout on Thursday, April 5, and Friday, April 6, in Tucson, AZ, and at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, April 7.
