Scarano and Hagenbaumer Named to the CSCAA All-America Team

Senior diver Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) and senior swimmer Julia Hagenbaumer (Naperville, IL) received All-America recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Following the unfortunate cancellation of all winter and spring NCAA Championships, the CSCAA Board elected to adjust its selection criteria for the All-America for each NCAA Division. In Division III, all individuals and relays who were selected to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships have been honored as All-Americans.

Scarano's inaugural All-America nod comes on the heels of an already-historic year that included a third-place finish off the one-meter board and a gold-medal performance off the three-meter board at the NCAA Diving Regionals.

Prior to that, Scarano was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Diver of the Year for her stellar results all season. She landed amongst the top three in both diving competitions during the conference championship meet.

In addition, Scarano consistently took medalist honors off both boards, resulting in the SCIAC Diver of Week award six times this year.

This also marks Hagenbaumer's first All-America nod. She entered the national meet in the 100 Breast with a qualifying time of 1:04.04 for 21st on the psych sheet. She swam that NCAA "B" time when she topped the podium at the SCIAC Championships. She was also invited to compete in the 200 Breast and 200 Individual Medley.

During the SCIAC Championships, Hagenbaumer led the Bulldog women among the honorees with three All-Conference awards, one individual and two relays.
