Sophomore shortstop Collette Allen (Sierra Madre, CA) represented the University of Redlands being selected as a 1st Team All-American, the first time receiving this accolade in her career.

Since 1987 there have now been 11 Bulldogs selected as NFCA All-Americans, five of which were named to the 1st Team.  The last player to earn recognition was AJ Carrasco who received accolades on the 3rd Team (2013) and 2nd Team (2016).  The last time there was a 1st Team selection was Amanda Lievanos who earned this recognition in 2011 and 2012.

This season she led the Maroon and Grey to the 2022 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Regular Season Championship Title and the No. 1 seed in the SCIAC Tournament.  She was named the SCIAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row and was a 1st Team All-SCIAC selection along with landing on the NFCA All-West Region team (1st Team).

This year she batted .440 with four doubles, four triples, 12 home runs, 20 extra-base hits, 37 runs batted in, 40 runs scored, added a .514 OBP and an .824 slugging percentage.

In the University of Redlands record books Allen ranks No. 2 in Homeruns, No. 3 in Slugging Percentage and No. 9 in On-Base Percentage.  In SCIAC she ranked No. 1 in On-Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, Runs Scored, Home Runs and RBI's, was No. 2 in Triples and Batting Average, and No. 3 in Extra Base Hits.

Then in the NCAA she ranks No. 12 in Homeruns, No. 23 in Slugging Percentage and No. 73 in On-Base Percentage.

The Division III All-America teams are voted on by a committee of NFCA member coaches representing the NCAA's 10 regions. They select 18 players for each of three teams, unless there is a tie for a third-team slot, in which case the tied players are both awarded honors. All players recognized as All-Region players were eligible for All-America recognition.
