2022 SCIAC Softball All-SCIAC Teams

REDLANDS, Calif. - The 2022 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Softball honors were announced Wednesday, following a vote by the league's member head coaches.

Five Bulldogs were selected to the All-SCIAC teams, Collette Allen made it back-to-back seasons where she was named the SCIAC Athlete of the Year and the last piece of hardware handed out was for Head Coach Jose Ortega and his staff being selected as the 2022 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year for the second straight year.

Ortega and his staff, which included Chelsea Rex, Stephanie Tickemyer, and Andrew Aguilera guided the Bulldogs to a 22-12 overall record and a 15-6 ledger in SCIAC play as the University of Redlands clinched the 2022 SCIAC Regular Season Championship Title, while securing the top seed in the conference tournament.

The Bulldog Coaching staff faced adversity this season with a number of injuries, a small roster size, and having to cancel non-conference games.  But they persevered, having four Bulldogs named SCIAC Athletes of the Week throughout the season, while also seeing the team lead the conference in At-Bats (615), Runs (139), Hits (205), Home Runs (20), RBI's (128), Extra Base Hits (74), Total Bases (329), Walks (52), and Slugging Percentage (.535).  They also ranked second in Triple (10), Doubles (44), Batting Average (.333), and On-Base Percentage (.399).
