Collette Allen named SCIAC Athlete of the Year for the second-straight season

REDLANDS, Calif. - The 2022 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Softball honors were announced Wednesday, following a vote by the league's member head coaches.

Along with the five Bulldogs named All-SCIAC, sophomore Collette Allen (Sierra Madre, CA) was also selected as the 2022 SCIAC Athlete of the Year for the second straight season proving once again she is the top player within the conference.

She has now been selected to the 1st Team as a Shortstop and been named the SCIAC Athlete of the Year back-to-back years and helped lead the Maroon and Grey to the 2022 SCIAC Regular Season Championship Title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.

Allen hit .433 in conference play with 29 hits, 27 runs scored, four triples, nine homeruns, and 26 RBI's. She also drew 11 walks, registered a .542 on-base percentage, and posted a slugging percentage of .955. In nine games, Allen logged multiple hits, including three in the series finale with Pomona-Pitzer (Feb. 19), and four in the second game of the series with Cal Lutheran (April 9). 

In SCIAC she ranked No. 1 in Plate Appearances, Runs Scored, Home Runs, RBI's, Total Bases, and Slugging Percentage.  She then ranked No. 2 in Triples and Walks, No. 3 in Hits and On-Base Percentage, and No. 5 in Batting Average.
